Woman reading the book Classic and Novel Sensory Analysis

Academic Consortium Publicatins for September 2026

This month, we are celebrating the publication of Classic and Novel Sensory Analysis, a new book edited by Adriano Gomes da Cruz, Erick Almeida Esmerino, Tatiana Colombo Pimentel. The first two chapters deals with preparing samples and designing a sensory lab. Each of the 25 chapters that follow is focused on one sensory analysis method and describes the protocols and practical aspects you need to know to use that method in your own tests. Among the chapters are contributions from members of the Compusense Academic Consortium, including chapters on the Napping technique by Stergios Melios and Emily Crofton; temporal check-all-that-apply (TCATA) by Glenn Birksø Hjorth Andersen, Jonas Yde Junge, and John Castura; the ideal profiling method (IPM) by Charles Diako, Sasha Barnett, and Carolyn Ross; temporal dominance of sensations (TDS) by Ana Carla Pinheiro, Katiúcia Amorim, Maria Laura Galdino, and Adriano Gomes da Cruz; and Product Personality Profiling (PPP) by Géssica Cristina da Veiga, Tahis Regina Baú, and Tatiana Colombo Pimentel.
